The Sea Citadel

द्वारका निर्माण — Shifting to the Sea Fortress

To protect His Yadava clan from repeated attacks by Jarasandha (the powerful king of Magadha seeking revenge for Kansa) and the barbarian king Kalyavana, Krishna executed a master stroke. He relocated the capital. He commanded Vishwakarma, the divine architect, to build Dwarka (the gateway to heaven)—a majestic fortress city made of gold and gems, built directly inside the western sea. Through His mystic powers, Krishna transported all sleeping Yadavas from Mathura to Dwarka in a single night.

रुक्मिणी स्वयंवर — The Divine Rescue of Rukmini

Princess Rukmini of Vidarbha had fallen in love with Krishna after hearing of His virtues, but her brother Rukmi arranged an unwanted marriage with Shishupala. Rukmini sent a secret letter to Krishna via a trusted Brahmin, begging Him to save her and explaining a plan. On the morning of her wedding, as she visited the temple of Goddess Girija, Krishna arrived in His swift chariot. In front of all the rival kings, Krishna swept Rukmini onto His chariot, defeated Rukmi and Shishupala's armies, and brought her to Dwarka to be His chief queen.

The Syamantaka Quest

स्यमन्तक मणि — The Jewel and the Eight Queens

When the magical Syamantaka jewel went missing, rumors accused Krishna of the theft. To clear His name, Krishna tracked the jewel's path to the cave of the legendary bear-king Jambavan (from Ramayana times). The two fought a fierce duel for 28 days until Jambavan recognized Krishna as none other than his beloved Lord Ram. Jambavan returned the jewel and gave his daughter Jambavati in marriage. Krishna returned the jewel to Satrajit, who, ashamed, gave his daughter Satyabhama to Krishna, establishing His eight chief queens (Ashtabharya).

Liberator of 16,100 Queens

नरकासुर वध — Slaying Narakasura

The demon king Narakasura had conquered the heavens and captured 16,100 royal women in his palace. Flying on Garuda with Satyabhama, Krishna invaded his fortress. In a fierce battle, Krishna slew the demon. The freed women, having suffered captivity, feared that society would never accept them back and begged Krishna to protect them. To restore their dignity, honor, and royal status, Krishna accepted all 16,100 women as His wives, expanding His divine household and showing His supreme compassion.
