"Agne A Yahi Vitaye Grinano Havyadataye,
Ni Hota Satsi Barhishi."

Meaning: "O Agni, come for our enjoyment, praised by us for the offering of oblations. Sit as our high priest upon the sacred grass."

Significance and Structure

The **Samaveda** is the Veda of melodies and chants. While its words are largely drawn from the Rigveda, its essence lies in the musical and sonic notes used to sing these verses during rituals.

  • Melodic Chanting: Comprises 1,875 verses, which are meant to be sung using specific musical scales (Svara) rather than just recited. This sonic resonance is believed to purify the surroundings and internal thoughts.
