🌸 श्री बुद्ध अवतार — Lord Buddha

The tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the Kali Yuga. Born as Prince Siddhartha Gautama of Kapilavastu, He renounced royal luxury to seek the root cause of human suffering. By attaining ultimate enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, He taught the Middle Path (Madhyama Pratipada), non-violence (Ahimsa), compassion, and mindfulness, directing humanity toward inner peace.

🌸 बुद्ध लीला — Legend of the Enlightened One

Condemning empty rituals and revealing the path of universal compassion

Siddhartha Gautama was born in Kapilavastu to King Shuddhodana and Queen Maya. An astrologer predicted that the prince would either become a great king or a great spiritual leader. To prevent him from taking the spiritual path, the king kept Siddhartha confined to his luxurious palaces, shielding him from any knowledge of illness, old age, death, or suffering.

However, at age 29, the prince ventured outside the palace walls and witnessed the "Four Sights": an old man, a sick man, a dead body, and a peaceful wandering ascetic. Realizing the impermanence of material comforts, Siddhartha left his palace, wife, and newborn son in the dead of night to seek a solution to human suffering.

He spent six years practicing extreme asceticism and fasting, which left him physically weak but no closer to the truth. Realizing that extreme self-mortification was as useless as extreme indulgence, he formulated the "Middle Path" (Madhyama Pratipada). He sat in deep meditation under a Pipal tree (now known as the Bodhi tree) in Bodh Gaya, where he attained complete spiritual awakening (Nirvana) at age 35, becoming the Buddha.

In Puranic Hindu traditions, Buddha is honored as the tenth avatar of Vishnu. The Puranas state that Vishnu descended as Buddha to stop the abuse of Vedic sacrifices (which had degenerated into animal cruelty) and to teach non-violence (Ahimsa), purity of mind, and direct moral responsibility (Karma) instead of blind ritualism. Jayadeva, in his Gita Govinda, praises Him: "O Keshava! You assumed the form of Buddha, showing compassion to all creatures and condemning animal sacrifice. Glory to you, Lord of the Universe!"
